January 3rd, 2009: Snowshoeing in Rocky Mountain National Park

We had a great day snowshoeing with the Dramkos in Rocky Mountain National Park last Saturday.

Just a shot of how full the Bear Lake parking lot was at around 1100 AM. Great to see so many people enjoying the park.

At Nymph Lake stopping for some pictures. Kelly hauled Travis in the backpack since we learned this summer that he screamed much less with her than with Scott.

Still at Nymph Lake.

Our family at Nymph Lake.
All of us at Nymph Lake.
We took the winter route up the creek bed from Nymph Lake to Dream Lake.
The winter route really has some steep sections, and Kelly had to work really hard with Travis on her back. The boys little legs were really tested in those sections too, but they all did great getting up the hills.
Kelly near the top of one of the steepest sections.
Nolan and Barrett on the "lunch rock" next to Dream Lake. It is completely covered with a lot of snow and you can just walk right out on it.
This picture is of Hallett's Peak (you can just barely see it) standing in the middle of Dream Lake.
